5200 series bearings: double row angular contact sizes, 5200 to 5206

5200 series bearings: double row angular contact sizes, 5200 to 5206

A 5200 series bearing is a double row angular contact ball bearing, and its last two digits give the bore just as on a 6200: a 5204 has a 20 mm bore and measures 20 x 47 x 20.6 mm. We list the 5200-2RS to 5206-2RS, all sealed both sides.

Know your number? Find it in the table, check the width against your old bearing, and order the listing beside it.

5200 bearing sizes: 5200 to 5206

Bore, outside diameter (OD) and width of every 52 series size we list, with the 62 series deep groove bearing that shares its bore and OD:

Number Bore (mm) OD (mm) Width (mm) Same bore and OD as Our listing
5200 10 30 14.3 6200 (9 mm wide) 5200-2RS
5201 12 32 15.9 6201 (10 mm wide) 5201-2RS
5202 15 35 15.9 6202 (11 mm wide) 5202-2RS
5203 17 40 17.5 6203 (12 mm wide) 5203-2RS
5204 20 47 20.6 6204 (14 mm wide) 5204-2RS
5205 25 52 20.6 6205 (15 mm wide) 5205-2RS
5206 30 62 23.8 6206 (16 mm wide) 5206-2RS

Source: bearing makers' double row angular contact ball bearing tables (see Sources) and our product listings, read 30 October 2026. The 62 series widths are the ones in our bearing size chart. Our 5206-2RS listing title rounds the width to 24 mm; its specifications give 23.8 mm.

The 5200 to 5205 are also on one page as a size choice: 5200 to 5205 2RS double row angular ball bearings.

How to read a 5200 number

  • 52 is the series: double row angular contact. Its outside diameter is the same as a 62xx with the same last two digits, as the table shows.
  • The last two digits are the bore code, the same code as a 6200: 00 = 10 mm, 01 = 12, 02 = 15, 03 = 17, then from 04 multiply by 5. So 5204 = 20 mm and 5206 = 30 mm.
  • 2RS after the number means sealed on both sides. Every 52 series bearing we list is a 2RS.

5200 or 6200: how to tell them apart

A 5204 and a 6204 both fit a 20 mm shaft and a 47 mm housing bore. The difference is the width and what's inside:

  • Width. Each 52xx is wider than the 62xx with the same last two digits: 20.6 mm against 14 mm for the 5204 and 6204. Measure all three dimensions, not just bore and OD.
  • Two rows of balls. A double row angular contact bearing is built like two single row angular contact bearings set back to back in one bearing. It takes radial load, axial (end) load in either direction, and tilting (moment) load.
  • It doesn't tilt. Two rows of balls doesn't make it self-aligning: a double row angular contact bearing doesn't allow angular adjustment. A 1200 or 2200 self-aligning ball bearing is the double row bearing that does. A 2204 self-aligning ball bearing also measures 20 x 47 mm but is 18 mm wide, and it tilts; a 5204 is 20.6 mm wide and doesn't.

Because the 52xx is wider, it won't simply drop in where a 62xx sat. The machine maker's parts list or drawing decides which one goes there, so replace like with like and read the number on the old bearing.

Seals and shields on 5200 bearings

Bearing makers build the 52 series open, shielded (ZZ) and sealed, all on the same dimension row: a sealed 5204 is the same 20 x 47 x 20.6 mm as an open one. Our range is 2RS (sealed both sides) in every size from 5200 to 5206; we don't list an open or ZZ version. Our 5206-2RS is listed as double sealed and pre-lubricated. For what 2RS and ZZ mean, and each maker's own code, see our bearing seal codes guide.

Is a 3200 the same as a 5200?

Don't assume it. At least one bearing maker numbers its double row angular contact bearings in a 32 series, and the sizes we checked mostly match, but not all of them: one maker lists its 3200 at 10 x 30 x 14.0 mm, where the 5200 is 14.3 mm wide. The same maker builds one 32 series design with filling slots on one side, which has to be fitted so most of the axial load goes through the side without the slots. If your old bearing says 32xx, send us the full number and its three measurements before you order.

Not every "5206" is the same bearing

Two other listings of ours carry a 5206 number, and only one of them is a 5206-2RS:

  • 5206KPP3 agricultural bearing. A different bearing: listed as 30 mm bore and 62 mm OD but 37/50 mm wide, with a triple lip seal, for farm machinery. It isn't a 5206-2RS.
  • ERR5285 viscous fan shaft bearing for the Land Rover Defender (1998 to 2006) and Discovery Series II (1998 to 2004) with the 2.5 litre TD5 diesel. Its specifications list it as a 5206-2RS double row angular contact bearing, 30 x 62 x 23.8 mm. For those vehicles, order it by the ERR5285 listing.

Which Bearings Express bearing fits

All of them are in our ball bearing collection. Fitting: follow the machine maker's procedure, or have a mechanic or bearing fitter do it; our 5200 to 5205 listing says these bearings should be fitted by a licensed technician. Ordering and delivery questions are answered in our FAQ.

Questions people also ask

What size is a 5204 bearing?

20 mm bore, 47 mm outside diameter and 20.6 mm wide. We list it as the 5204-2RS, sealed both sides.

What are the 5206 bearing dimensions?

30 mm bore, 62 mm OD and 23.8 mm wide in the bearing makers' tables. Our 5206-2RS listing title rounds the width to 24 mm; its specifications give 23.8 mm.

What size is a 5205 bearing?

25 mm bore, 52 mm OD and 20.6 mm wide, the same width as a 5204.

What size is a 5203 bearing?

17 mm bore, 40 mm OD and 17.5 mm wide.

Do you sell 5207 to 5210 bearings?

Not in our double row angular contact range, which stops at the 5206. In the makers' tables a 5207 is 35 x 72 x 27 mm, a 5208 40 x 80 x 30.2 mm, a 5209 45 x 85 x 30.2 mm and a 5210 50 x 90 x 30.2 mm. Send us the number from your old bearing and we'll check.
