We list two ball bearings with a true 16 mm bore: the 6202-16 (16 x 35 x 11 mm) and the 6203-16 (16 x 40 x 12 mm). Our 62xx inch bores carry a dash number in sixteenths of an inch, so a 6202-10 has a 5/8" (15.875 mm) bore, 0.125 mm under 16 mm, and a 6203-12 a 3/4" bore.
The catch: on our 6202-16 and 6203-16 the 16 means 16 mm, while our 1 inch 6205 is also known as a 6205-16. Measure the bore to one decimal place, then find your size below.
16 mm and imperial bores on standard bearing rings
Here is every 6201, 6202, 6203 and 6205 we list with a 16 mm or inch bore. Each keeps the outside diameter and width of the standard bearing on the same ring (a standard 6202 is 15 x 35 x 11 mm, a 6203 is 17 x 40 x 12 mm); only the bore changes.

Source: our product listings, checked 30 October 2026. Outside diameters and widths match bearing makers' published tables for the standard 6201, 6202, 6203 and 6205 (see Sources). Millimetre bores are the inch sizes converted (1 inch = 25.4 mm).
We also list a Murray top and bottom pair, a 6203-5/8" and a 6202-5/8", both with 2RS seals. Our bearing size chart has every standard size from 6000 to 6310.
What does 6202-10 or 6203-12 mean?
The four digits are the standard bearing, which sets the outside diameter and width. The dash number gives the special bore. On our 6201 to 6205 inch bores it counts sixteenths of an inch:
- -8 is 8/16, so 1/2" (12.7 mm): 6201-8, 6202-8, 6203-8.
- -10 is 10/16, so 5/8" (15.875 mm): 6202-10, 6203-10.
- -12 is 12/16, so 3/4" (19.05 mm): 6203-12.
- -16 is 16/16, so 1" (25.4 mm): 6205-16, our 6205-2RS-1.
Bearing makers' inch-bore insert tables count sixteenths too: one writes 3/4" as -12 and 1" as -16, another 1/2" as -008, 5/8" as -010 and 3/4" as -012, but 1" as -100. Some makers number inch bores differently, so go by the inch size on the listing.
Our team's view is that there's no industry standard for these numbers, and our own listings show why. Our 6202-16 and 6203-16 are 16 mm bores, as their listings say, not 1 inch. If your old bearing is stamped -16, measure the bore before you order.
Is a 16 mm bearing the same as 5/8 inch?
No. A 5/8" bore is 15.875 mm, 0.125 mm smaller than 16 mm, and our 6202-5/8" and 6202-16 share the same 35 x 11 mm outer ring (the 6203 pair shares 40 x 12 mm). The outside can't tell them apart, and a ruler can't either.
- Measure the bore with vernier callipers and write it to one decimal place: 15.9 mm is 5/8", 16.0 mm is 16 mm.
- Measure the outside diameter and the width of the outer ring.
- Match all three in the table above. 12.7 mm is 1/2", 19.05 mm is 3/4" and 25.4 mm is 1".
If you've measured 16 x 35 mm, that's our 6202-16; 16 x 40 mm is our 6203-16. These are the only 16 mm bores in our ball bearing range.
Inch-series and mower bearings we list

For a 5/8" Greenfield clutch drive shaft we also list an SB202-10 bearing that locks on with grub screws.
Which bearing fits my shaft?
The shaft gives you the bore. The outside diameter and width must match the old bearing too, so measure all three.
| Shaft | In mm | Our ball bearings with that bore |
|---|---|---|
| 1/2" | 12.7 | 6201-1/2", 6202-1/2", 6203-1/2, R8ZZ |
| 5/8" | 15.875 | 6202-5/8", 6203-5/8", EE5-2RS, RLS5-2RS, RMS5-2RS, mower front wheel bearing |
| 16 mm | 16 | 6202-16, 6203-16 |
| 3/4" | 19.05 | 6203-3/4, RMS6-2RS, 204RR6, PFA136-1 |
| 1" | 25.4 | 6205-2RS-1 |

For a 1" hex shaft we also list the 206KRRB6 agricultural bearing, which has a hexagonal bore.
A pillow block or flange housing takes an insert bearing, not one of these. We don't list a 16 mm insert or pillow block; the nearest is 5/8" (UC202-10 insert, UCP202/10 pillow block). Our UCP204, UCP205 and UCP206 pillow block guide covers the 3/4" and 1" units.

Questions people also ask
What are the 6202-16 bearing dimensions?
In our listing, 16 mm bore x 35 mm OD x 11 mm wide, with 2RS rubber seals, in a pack of 10. It's a standard 6202 outer ring with a 16 mm bore.
Is a 6202-10 the same as a 6202-5/8"?
Yes. Our 6202-5/8" listing also gives 6202-10: a 5/8" (15.875 mm) bore on a 35 x 11 mm ring. In the same way our 6203-5/8" is a 6203-10 and our 6203-3/4 a 6203-12.
Is a 6205-16 a 1 inch bearing?
Yes, in our range: our 6205-2RS-1 has a 1" (25.4 mm) bore on a 52 x 15 mm ring, and its listing also gives 6205-16. Our 6202-16 and 6203-16 are 16 mm, so check which ring you have.
Do you sell a 16 mm pillow block bearing?
No. Our inserts and pillow blocks don't come in 16 mm. The nearest bore is 5/8" (15.875 mm).
