A Murray 37X number is the belt's part number: a 37X86 (also written 037X86MA) is our 82-inch Kevlar cutter deck belt for selected Murray 38-inch lawn tractors, and a 37X88 is the 86.25-inch cutter deck belt for selected 42-inch models. Three cases need your old belt number first: some Murray 38 inch model numbers (such as 38711X42A and 38713X71A) appear on both our 37X62 and 37X63 listings as the cutter belt; the Stihl-Viking MT433H and MT435H appear on two of our transmission belt listings (our 37X61 belt and our Stihl-Viking 7004 872 1325 belt); and the Victa Noma 4616HX appears on both our 37X66 (cutter deck) and 37X80 and 37X89 (engine to cutter deck) listings.

Five 37X belts are listed under the Murray number: order by the number
Twelve of the belts above are supplied under a standard Kevlar A-section size code. Five are supplied under the Murray number itself: our 37X61, 37X62, 37X63, 37X86 and 37X88. Three of them are in-between lengths: 84.5 inches (37X62), 86.25 inches (37X88) and 93-3/32 inches (37X61) inside.
Aftermarket belts in standard sizes come in 1-inch steps, so there is no standard A belt at exactly those lengths. Order these by the 37X number, not by a rounded-off size. Where you can, our team goes by the maker's belt number rather than measuring.
Rover, Stihl-Viking and Victa: the same belts under other numbers
On our listings, the same 37X belt carries Murray, Rover, Stihl-Viking and Victa numbers, and the numbers line up:
- Victa: the Victa number is often the Murray number with NR in front. NR037X61 is listed on our 37X61 belt, NR037X66 on the 37X66 and NR037X74 on the 37X74.
- Stihl-Viking: the 6121 071 numbers end in Murray's 710 numbers. Stihl-Viking 6121 071 0193 sits on the same belt as Murray 710193 (our 37X86), and 6121 071 0213 with Murray 710213 (our 37X88).
- Rover Clipper: most of the Clipper models our listings name carry Murray-style model numbers, such as 385002X108A on the 37X86 belt and 425621X108A on the 37X88.
So if your Rover, Stihl-Viking or Victa belt shows a 37X number, use it. If it shows the brand's own number, search for it on our Stihl-Viking, Rover or Victa belts, or send it to us.
How to find the right 37X belt
- Read the number on your old belt, or find it in your mower's manual. Our listings point out that one belt can have several applications, so the manual's number is the safe check.
- Check the position. A Murray 385002X50A lists our 37X86 on the cutter deck and our 37X87 on the transmission. A 46 inch deck can have a primary and a secondary deck belt.
- Match the old belt. Every 37X belt we list is Kevlar, and a Kevlar belt can replace a standard belt of the same size, but not the other way round.
- Not in the table? Send us the number on the old belt, or your mower's make and model number, and we'll check.
