Our LandCruiser 79 Series oil filters come in a three-filter service kit (oil, air and fuel), and the code picks the kit: the VDJ79 kit for the 4.5 litre V8 (1VD-FTV, from January 2007) or the 1HZ kit for the HZJ79 with the 4.2 litre 1HZ (August 1999 to December 2006). No other 79 Series code is on either kit.

The model code picks the kit, not the model name
- "79 Series" isn't enough. The HZJ79 with the 1HZ six-cylinder and the VDJ79 with the V8 take different kits. Toyota's December 2025 LandCruiser 70 brochure lists a 2.8 litre four-cylinder turbo diesel for the current range, and that engine isn't on either of our 70 Series kits. Neither kit lists any 79 Series code other than the HZJ79 and VDJ79.
- "2015 Hilux" isn't enough. Our KUN kit runs to December 2015 and our GUN kit starts in January 2015, so the model code decides. The KUN kit lists the 3.0 litre 1KD-FTV only: the 2.5 litre 2KD-FTV Hilux isn't on it, and no petrol Hilux engine is on either kit.
- Colorado and D-Max shared a kit, then split. Up to mid 2012 the Colorado RC, Rodeo RA and D-Max TF all list the 3.0 litre 4JJ1-TC and one kit. From the RG (listed from June 2012) the Colorado has its own kit for the 2.5 and 2.8 litre engines, with two fuel filters. The D-Max TF II and MU-X kept the 4JJ1-TC but take a different kit. Our two D-Max kits both list January to June 2012, so for a D-Max built in those months, send us your VIN before you order.
If you don't know your model code, or your vehicle sits on a boundary like that, send us your VIN or registration and we'll confirm the kit from the make, model, year and engine.
What's in our service kits
Each kit holds one air filter, one oil filter and one fuel filter, except the Colorado RG kit, which has two fuel filters. Where the table says there's a cabin filter version, it's the same kit plus one cabin filter, for the same vehicles. Pick it if you're changing the cabin filter at the same service.
Our kits are listed as Sunwa. Our listings say Sunwa and FULL filters are both made by Siam Filter Company, and either may be supplied, depending on the supply chain.
Before you start, check the kit has every part. As each old filter comes off, check the new one looks generally the same; our filter-change video shows the air and cabin filters going into a Triton. Our listings say the parts should be fitted by a licensed professional to the vehicle's specifications.
Toyota LandCruiser 79 Series maintenance and service schedules
Our kits cover the filters. The schedule, meaning how often to service and what else gets checked, is in your vehicle's own service book. How often to service, and what else gets checked, is set by the vehicle maker for each model and engine, and it's in your service book, so we don't quote a schedule here. That goes for the Hilux, Colorado and D-Max too.

- Pick the LandCruiser 70 Series V8 service kit for a VDJ76, VDJ78 or VDJ79 with the 1VD-FTV V8.
- Pick the LandCruiser 1HZ service kit for an HZJ75, HZJ78, HZJ79 or HZJ80 with the 4.2 litre 1HZ.
- Pick the Hilux KUN16 and KUN26 service kit for a 3.0 litre 1KD-FTV Hilux.
- Pick the Hilux GUN service kit for a GUN Hilux or GUN156 Fortuner from 2015.
- Pick the Colorado RG service kit for any Colorado RG, Colorado 7 or SportsCat in the table.

Questions people also ask
Does a service kit include engine oil?
No. Our kits are filters only: none of these listings names engine oil or a sump plug washer in its contents. Use the oil grade and quantity in your owner's manual or service book.
Can I buy just the oil filter?
Not from us: our LandCruiser, Hilux, Colorado and D-Max filters are sold in these kits only.
