Caravan wheel bearings are chosen by the numbers on your old bearings, not the tonnage: AL-KO's 2 and 2.5 tonne set is an HR30210 inner bearing (50 mm bore) with a 15123 cone and 15245 cup outer (31.75 mm bore). We sell that pairing as the 2x 2 or 2.5 Tonne Trailer and Caravan Wheel Bearing Kits.
If your old cones read HR30210 (or 30210) and 15123, that's your kit. If they read anything else, check the table of "2 tonne" kits below: five other pairs in our range carry the same label.
| Part | What it is | Maker's size | Also written as |
|---|---|---|---|
| HR30210 (30210) | Inner bearing, cone and cup | 50 mm bore x 90 mm outside x 21.75 mm wide overall | HR30210J (NSK) |
| 15123 | Outer cone | 31.75 mm (1 1/4") bore, 19.05 mm wide | 4T-15123 (NTN) |
| 15245 | Outer cup | 62.00 mm outside, 14.29 mm wide; 18.16 mm wide overall with its 15123 cone | 15123/245 or 15123/15245 with its cone |
| 64607 | Grease seal (AL-KO) | 60.3 mm seal journal, 89.96 mm housing | AL-KO uses the same seal on its 3 tonne set |
Source: bearing makers' published part data and catalogues, and an axle maker's bearings catalogue (see Sources). Read 2 October 2026. These are the makers' figures. Our kit listings give HR30210 as 50 mm ID x 90 mm OD and 15123/15245 as 31.75 mm ID x 62 mm OD.
Why '2 tonne' doesn't tell you the bearings
The "2 tonne" or "2.5 tonne" in our kit names is not a load rating for the bearings, and it doesn't identify them. Where an axle maker uses tonnes, it's rating the axle, not the bearing set. We don't quote load ratings for bearings or kits. If you need to know what your caravan's axle is rated to, ask the caravan or axle maker.
These are the kits in our range with "2 tonne" in the name, with the bearings and seal exactly as each listing gives them:
| Kit (as named in our range) | Bearings in the kit | Seal in the kit |
|---|---|---|
| 2 or 2.5 tonne trailer and caravan | HR30210 inner; 15123 cone, 15245 cup outer | 60.3 x 89.96 mm (marine version 60.3 x 90.00 mm) |
| Dexter 2 tonne, AU version | 25580/20 and 15123/245 | 33940, 1.93 x 3.375 x 0.50 in |
| Dexter 2 tonne, US version | 25580/20 and 15123/245 | 34040, 2.250 x 3.375 x 0.5 in |
| 2 tonne for Kimberley campers with disc brake hubs | 25580/25520 inner; LM67048/LM67010 outer | 2-piece, 48 x 85 mm |
| Trojan 2 tonne | L44649/10 and LM48548/10 | Marine, 1.813 x 2.563 x 0.68 in |

That's six bearing pairs under one label, and only the first matches AL-KO's 2/2.5 tonne set.
It cuts the other way too. AL-KO's 3 tonne set uses the same HR30210 inner bearing and the same 64607 seal as its 2/2.5 tonne set. Only the outer bearing (LM29749 cone, 38.10 mm bore, in an LM29710 cup) differs. Our kit for various Kimberley Karavans with 60 mm stub axles pairs a 30210 inner with an LM67048 outer. So an HR30210 on its own doesn't tell you the kit: the outer cone does.
The seal matters as well. Our Dexter AU, Dexter US and ModCon kits all carry 25580/25520 and 15123/15245 bearings, with four different seal sizes listed between them (see the questions below).
How to find which kit your caravan takes
- Read both cones. Wipe the grease off the inner and outer cones and read the numbers stamped on them. HR30210 (or 30210) with 15123 is the 2/2.5 tonne set. Prefixes like 4T- or HR and suffixes like J are maker codes on the same number (see the questions below).
- Read the cups. In AL-KO's 2/2.5 tonne set and in our kits, the 15123 cone runs in a 15245 cup (62.00 mm outside). Bearing makers also pair the 15123 cone with other cups, such as the 15250X (63.50 mm), so check that the cup reads 15245 before you order. Our kits include new cups.
- Measure the old seal. Note the inside and outside diameter and the width. The seal in our 2/2.5 tonne kits is listed at 60.3 x 89.96 mm.
- No readable numbers? Go to the axle maker's data. On AL-KO's 2/2.5 tonne set the bearing journals are 50.00 mm (inner) and 31.75 mm (outer). None of our kit listings names a Jayco model, so for a Jayco or any other van, go by the numbers or the axle.
- Count the hubs. A 2x kit does two wheels. A 1x kit does one hub.
Replacing caravan wheel bearings: when to get a mechanic
Replacing the bearings means taking the hub off, fitting new cups and cones, and setting the bearing up again on reassembly. If you haven't done it before, have a caravan service centre or mechanic do it; they can quote the labour. Get one to look before you tow further if a hub ran hot, a bearing grinds or has play, a cup is pitted, or the stub axle journal is scored or blue. Our kit listings say all parts should be fitted by a licensed professional to vehicle specifications.
Which kit fits your caravan
- Pick the 2x 2 or 2.5 Tonne Trailer and Caravan Wheel Bearing Kits if both hubs read HR30210 and 15123/15245, or the 1x kit for one hub. ITJ bearings (made in Japan), with seals listed at 60.3 x 89.96 mm.
- Pick the 2x 2 or 2.5 Tonne Japanese kits with marine seals if you'd rather run marine seals. Same bearings, seals listed at 60.3 x 90.00 mm.
- Pick the 2x 3 Tonne Trailer and Caravan Bearing Kits if the inner reads HR30210 and the outer cone reads LM29749.
- Pick the 2x 2 Tonne Kimberley camper kit if your Kimberley camper has disc brake hubs with 25580 inner and LM67048 outer cones.
- Pick the 2x 2 Tonne Trojan Trailer Kits if your cones read L44649 and LM48548.
Other caravan kits in the trailer bearing collection: 1.5 tonne (LM29749 and LM67048), Simplicity caravans with 12" drums (2788/2720 and LM67048), Kimberley Karavans with 60 mm stub axles (30210 and LM67048), plus the Dexter, Cruisemaster, ModCon and single-kit versions.
Questions people also ask
What bearings are in a 25580 and 15123 bearing kit?
A 25580 cone in a 25520 cup (44.45 mm bore) and a 15123 cone in a 15245 cup (31.75 mm bore). We sell that pair as Dexter 2 tonne kits (AU version with a 33940 seal, US version with a 34040 seal) and as ModCon camper kits, so match your old seal too. As our supplier points out, Dexter makes axles, not bearings, and US Dexter axles use the 34040 seal (2.250 x 3.375 x 0.5 in). The trailer bearing guide lists the 25580/20 + 15123/245 pair alongside the other trailer bearing combinations.
What size is a 30210 bearing?
50 mm bore, 90 mm outside diameter and 21.75 mm wide. An HR30210J is the same 50 x 90 x 21.75 mm.
What size is a 15123 bearing?
The 15123 cone has a 31.75 mm (1 1/4") bore and is 19.05 mm wide. In the 15123/15245 set the cup is 62.00 mm across and the bearing is 18.16 mm wide overall. The 15123 is also made to pair with a 63.50 mm 15250X cup, so read the cup number too. It has the same bore as the Holden LM67048 cone, but the LM67010 cup is 59.13 mm, so the two don't swap.
Are 4T-15123 and HR30210J the same as 15123 and 30210?
Yes, for size: they're maker codes on the same basic numbers. NTN puts its 4T- prefix on tapered roller bearings and lists the set as 4T-15123/15245. HR30210J is NSK's number for a 30210-size bearing, with J as NSK's design code.
Can I use marine seals on a caravan?
Yes. Our team says marine seals are fine to use on caravans, and we sell the 2/2.5 tonne kit with marine seals. The axle maker's catalogue also lists a marine seal for its 2, 2.5 and 3 tonne sets.
