Our Holden Astra timing belt kit fits the 1.8 litre Astra TS (X18XE engine, September 1998 to March 2000; Z18XE, April 2000 to June 2004) and the Astra AH (Z18XE, November 2004 to March 2007). It comes with the water pump, bearings, high-temperature seals and the timing belt.
Find your engine code in the table. If it's there, that's the kit: it's the only timing belt kit we list for these engines, and it always includes the pump.

What's in the Astra timing belt kit?
The listing names four things:
- The timing belt.
- Bearings. The listing doesn't say which pulleys they are for, and it doesn't name a tensioner, so ask us before you order if you need one.
- High-temperature seals.
- A water pump, listed as a quality aftermarket pump.
We don't list a version without the pump for these engines, and our listings don't sell the Astra 1.8 water pump on its own. If you want a different combination, ask us. The kit as listed suits the way our team approaches a timing belt job: we recommend replacing all the components together.
Which Astra do I have?
Go by the engine code, not the badge. Every row above is a 1.8 litre, 16 valve DOHC engine, coded X18XE or Z18XE, and the same Z18XE is listed in the Barina XC and Tigra XC. If you don't know your engine code, send us your VIN or registration and our team will confirm the kit from the make, model, year and engine.
Astras our timing belt kit doesn't list
No timing belt kit in our range names any other Astra engine. That includes:
- the TR Astra (1996 to 1998);
- the 2.0 turbo TS and AH;
- AH Astras built after March 2007;
- later Astras, such as a 2017 model.
For those, we can't tell you from our listings whether the engine uses a belt or a chain. Ask a Holden service centre with your VIN.
When should the Astra timing belt be changed?
Use the interval in your owner's manual or service book. We haven't found a current Holden document for the TS or AH Astra that gives one, so we don't quote a figure. The same goes for whether these engines are interference engines (where a broken belt lets the valves hit the pistons): check your owner's manual.
The listing says the parts "should be fitted by a professional and fitted to vehicle specifications", and we agree: unless you have the workshop manual and the tools it calls for, have a mechanic fit the kit.

- Pick the timing belt kit with water pump (pn327) for an Astra TS or AH, Barina XC or Tigra XC with the X18XE or Z18XE engine in the table.
- Pick the 5PK1210 fan belt for the Astra TS and AH, Barina and Tigra XC (pn33) if the fan belt is due as well. It's listed for exactly the same engines and build dates as the kit. 5PK1210 means 5 ribs, the PK rib profile and a 1210 mm effective length; our fan belt guide explains the numbers.
- Ask us about the tensioner and idler pulley (pn645) for a TR Astra (C16SE, C18SEL or X20XEV, 1996 to 1998) or the 2.0 turbo TS and AH (Z20LET, Z20LER). Its listing names those Astras under "Tensioner Pulley" but doesn't say which belt the pulley runs on, so check with us before you order.

We don't publish belt routing. Your workshop manual shows it, and a mechanic can check it on the car.
