An L44649 is the outer cone of our American import trailer kits: 26.99 mm (1.0625") bore, in an L44610 cup, written L44649/10. The inner bearing is an L68149 cone in a larger L68111 cup, 59.97 mm across instead of the Ford kit's 59.13 mm, so a standard Ford or Holden kit won't fit that hub.
Your cones read L68149 and L44649, and the cups read L68111 and L44610? Then you need an American import kit. If any number differs, read on.
The two bearings in an American import kit, with the bearing makers' sizes:
| Written as | Cone and cup | Bore x outside x width | Where it sits |
|---|---|---|---|
| L68149/11 | L68149 cone, L68111 cup | 34.99 x 59.97 x 15.875 mm | Inner |
| L44649/10 | L44649 cone, L44610 cup | 26.99 x 50.29 x 14.22 mm | Outer |

What is an American import trailer kit?
It's the bearing set our listings name for imported boat trailers: an L68149 cone in an L68111 cup on the inside, and an L44649 cone in an L44610 cup on the outside, with the seal. Our listings say it fits most imported boat trailers, including Bayliner, Larson, Malibu, Mastercraft and Tige. "Most" is the listing's word, so read the numbers on your old bearings before you order. Our supplier's rule for trailer bearings applies here too: replace them with the same numbers that came out.
How to tell it from a Holden, Ford or parallel kit
Four of our trailer sets look alike once the hub is off. Here are the cone and cup numbers stamped on each, with each cup's outside diameter:
| Set | Inner cone and cup | Inner cup across | Outer cone and cup | Outer cup across |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Holden | LM67048, LM67010 | 59.13 mm | LM11949, LM11910 | 45.24 mm |
| Ford (slimline) | L68149, L68110 | 59.13 mm | LM12749, LM12710 | 45.24 mm |
| Parallel | L68149, L68110 | 59.13 mm | L68149, L68110 | 59.13 mm |
| American import | L68149, L68111 | 59.97 mm | L44649, L44610 | 50.29 mm |

The inner cone won't settle it on its own: Ford, parallel and American import hubs all take an L68149 (so do our Cruisemaster 10-VC and 10-VT kits). Two things do:
- The inner cup. Of these four sets, L68110 means Ford or parallel. L68111 means American import.
- The outer cone. L44649 has a 26.99 mm bore. The Ford outer (LM12749) is 21.99 mm and the Holden outer (LM11949) is 19.05 mm. A parallel hub has a second L68149 on the outside.
Our Holden or Ford guide covers the other two sets, and parallel trailer bearings explained the parallel one. "American import" is not the same as a US Dexter axle either: our Dexter kits use 25580 and 15123 bearings, covered in our Dexter kit guide.
The L68111 cup trap
An L68149 cone runs in more than one cup. In a Ford or parallel kit it's the L68110, 59.13 mm across. In an American import kit it's the L68111, 59.97 mm across. The cones are identical, so the inner bearing looks like a Ford one until you read the cup. A standard Ford kit won't fit that hub.
In our range the L68111 cup comes only in the four American import kits, always with an L44649/10 outer. If your hub has an L68111 inner cup with a different outer bearing, none of our kits carries that pair: send us the numbers off all four parts before you order (how to reach us).
The outer cup has the same catch. The L44610 cup also takes other cones, such as the L44643 (25.40 mm bore), and none of our kits include it. Read the outer cone as well as the cup.
Which of our kits carry L44649
L44649 is in eight of our bearing kit listings: four American import and four Trojan 2 tonne, each in two brands as a single kit or a pair. Here's what each set includes, as listed:
| Kit | Bearings | Seal as listed | Brands |
|---|---|---|---|
| American import | L68149 cone in L68111 cup, L44649 cone in L44610 cup | 44.45 x 65 x 10 mm | ACCOR or ITJ, each as a 2x or 1x kit |
| Trojan 2 tonne | L44649 cone in L44610 cup, LM48548 cone in LM48510 cup | 1.813 x 2.563 x 0.68 in (about 46.1 x 65.1 x 17.3 mm), listed as a marine seal | ITJ or ACCOR, each as a 2x or 1x kit |

The ACCOR and ITJ American import kits list the same cone and cup numbers and the same seal: only the bearing brand changes. ITJ is our Japanese brand; ACCOR is a high-end Chinese maker and our economy brand. Our Japanese vs Chinese trailer bearings guide compares them.
We don't list a marine seal version of the American import kit. Seal sizes for every other set are in our trailer bearing seal sizes guide.
Before you order
- Read both cones and both cups. Wipe the grease off the large end face of each cone and the edge of each cup.
- Match all four numbers to one row of the tables above, then buy the kit that carries them.
- Check the old seal against 44.45 x 65 x 10 mm if you're buying seals on their own.
Get a trailer service centre to look at it if a hub ran hot, the bearing grinds or has play, the cup is pitted, or the axle seat is scored or blue. For fitting and adjustment, follow your axle maker's procedure or have a trailer service centre do it. Our kit listings say all parts should be fitted by a licensed professional to vehicle specifications.
Pick your kit
- Pick the 2x Standard American Import Trailer Bearing Kits (ACCOR) for two wheels.
- Pick the 1x Standard American Import Trailer Bearing Kit (ACCOR) for one hub.
- Pick the 2x American Import Trailer Bearing Kits, Japanese made bearings or the 1x kit if you want ITJ, our Japanese brand.
- Pick the 2x Standard American Import Trailer Seals when the bearings are fine and only the seals need replacing.
- Pick the 2x 2 Tonne Trojan Trailer Kits if your cones read L44649 and LM48548.
The ACCOR Trojan kits and the single ITJ Trojan kit are in the trailer bearing collection. Ordering, dispatch and returns: see our FAQ.
Questions people also ask
What size is an L44649 bearing?
The L44649 cone has a 26.99 mm (1.0625") bore. With its L44610 cup it's 50.29 mm across the outside and 14.22 mm wide overall.
What's the difference between L68110 and L68111?
Both are cups for the L68149 cone. The L68110 is 59.13 mm across and goes in our Ford, parallel and Cruisemaster kits; the L68111 is 59.97 mm and goes in our American import kits. They don't swap.
What seal goes with an L44649 bearing kit?
It depends on the other bearing. Our American import kits (with L68149) list a 44.45 x 65 x 10 mm seal. Our Trojan kits (with LM48548) list 1.813 x 2.563 x 0.68 in.
Does the bearing brand change the kit?
No. The cone and cup numbers decide the fit. We sell the American import kit in ACCOR and ITJ, with the same numbers in both.
